ESG

ESG (environmental, social, and governance) topics directly impact operational companies, both locally and internationally, investment funds, private equity groups, as well as real estate structures. In response to these developments, in 2024, we have expanded our service offering with the integration of Deveco Sustainability, a strategic consulting firm based in Luxembourg founded in 2017, specialising in sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.

ESG reporting is a critical issue for companies. The evolving legislative framework and the introduction of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) require increased transparency on sustainability and social responsibility practices.

Our experts support you in these ESG compliance processes, ensuring a high-value partnership aimed at creating both societal and economic value.

We specialise in the development and formulation of integrated ESG strategies that align business objectives with sustainability. Additionally, we are accredited by the INDR for the Luxembourgish ESR label and the European Responsibility Europe label, offering tailored support throughout the labelling process.

Our ESG services include:

  • Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
  • Carbon footprint
  • B Corp certification
  • Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)

CSRD-ESG

This recent Directive — subject to varying interpretations regarding its scope and practical implementation — imposes non-financial reporting obligations on a vast number of companies and establishes a common framework for reporting on ESG impacts.

We support you through every step of the compliance process, including the double materiality analysis, a concept at the heart of the CSRD. Since 2019, we have been using our own pragmatic method, designed to avoid complexifying these new and sometimes opaque topics. Our method simplifies the data collection process while ensuring the required level of regulatory compliance.

Although exempt from these obligations, SMEs will need to provide structured sustainability information to their business partners based on these new standards. To assist them, voluntary standards (VSME) have been issued by the European Union. We offer specialised support in helping these companies comply with these standards.

CarbonFootprint-ESG

Calculating their carbon footprint is essential for a growing number of companies. It is particularly required by the CSRD, which mandates the publication of a comprehensive greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions report, including both direct and indirect emissions (scope 1, 2, and 3), in accordance with the European taxonomy.

Beyond regulatory compliance, measuring and assessing a company's GHG emissions provides a clearer understanding of the environmental impact of its activities and helps identify key areas for reducing these emissions.

We conduct carbon footprint assessments following the GHG Protocol, ISO 14069, and Bilan Carbone © standards. In this context, we assist companies in developing a decarbonisation strategy by applying the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) framework, as well as in their offsetting efforts.

Deveco is accredited by Luxinnovation for the state aid programme, Fit4Sustainability, which offers grants to companies conducting carbon footprint assessments.

B Corp Certification

Companies that obtain the B Corp label are certified by the international B Lab movement, a non-profit organisation that assesses the social and environmental performance of businesses in accordance with rigorous standards.

A major benefit for companies pursuing B Corp certification is the creation of both economic and societal value through the "Impact Business Model" approach. As trained B Leaders, we guide companies throughout the certification process. We assist in navigating the label's requirements, improving practices, and integrating B Corp principles into  business strategies.

CSDDD-ESG

This European Directive, set to take effect in 2027, will impose a due diligence on large companies concerning human rights and environmental matters. These obligations will apply to their own activities, those of their subsidiaries, and those of their partners involved in their supply chains. Additionally, the Directive will require companies to implement a transition plan for mitigating climate change.

We support throughout the compliance process, providing guidance in evaluating practices, developing strategies, and integrating CSDDD requirements into operations.
