Luxembourg, 14 September 2018
ATOZ Tax Advisers has advised Intesa Sanpaolo Holding International, which forms part of the Luxembourg operations of Intesa Sanpaolo, one of Italy’s largest banking groups, on the financial and tax aspects concerning the acquisition of new corporate headquarters for the group’s Luxembourg operations. The 10,000m² building will be built in the Ban de Gasperich area, a growing business district to the south of Luxembourg City. Intesa Sanpaolo will be the first bank to establish operations in the Ban de Gasperich following the consolidation of its three current sites in Luxembourg City. The building will be able to accommodate 900 people and allow for Intesa Sanpaolo, which currently employs 400 people in Luxembourg, to expand its Luxembourg business.
Christophe Darche, ATOZ Partner and Head of Corporate Finance who led the ATOZ team on the transaction added, “We are proud to have advised the management of Intesa Sanpaolo Holding International on this significant real estate transaction which is both a testament to the trust the Intesa Sanpaolo group has in Luxembourg as well as their desire to remain a lasting leader in the country’s financial sector.”
The building is expected to be completed at the end of 2021, with a move-in date in the first quarter of 2022.
